The process

The custom home/new construction can be daunting. Our family's well-rounded experience in both real estate and construction will help simplify the process allowing you to navigate it with ease.

We start by identifying where you would like to build. Whether it is a lot in a development or on your own land, we can assist you in locating and securing the property.

Next, we enter the design phase. 1st Advantage will help you search, modify, and develop home plans to the point where we are ready for the permitting stage. This includes kitchen design, changing of interior/exterior, and adding or removing features. During the permitting stage, we work directly with the local municipality to obtain a building permit. At the same time, we help our customers obtain the necessary construction financing to go through with their build.

Once we obtain the building permit and the financing/funding is in place, the construction begins! Starting with the foundation, we then move to framing, and getting your home "under roof". While these stages are underway, our team helps with the interior design of the home. 1st Advantage helps set appointments and meets with our suppliers to select finishes that meet our client's vision and dreams.

Through superior communication we keep our clients informed on the progress of their build all the way through to the end; obtaining an occupancy permit, final walk-through, and new home/warranty orientation.
